How TTR Trail Ratings Work

Every route in this database is one I’ve personally run or completed. I score each trail from a runner’s perspective so you can quickly see what the route actually feels like—not just what the map says. Each category runs from 1–10.

TechnicalityHow much rocks, roots, rough footing, scrambling, and line-picking affect the route.More technical terrain.
RunnabilityHow much of the route can realistically be run rather than power-hiked or scrambled.More sustained running.
CrowdsHow much trail traffic you’re likely to encounter.A more crowded trail.

One important distinction: the Overall score is not a mathematical average of the other ratings. It reflects my overall impression of the route as a trail-running experience. Ratings are based on the conditions I experienced when I ran the route, along with trail characteristics that are unlikely to change.
