- Don’t smell great. You run in these a lot, and they absorb sweat better than a sponge. That means your feet will stink when you wear them casually.

Synthetic materials will often break down faster than leather or mesh. Modern shoes are also made with soft outsoles that can wear down much faster.
Try to wear and rotate between multiple pairs of shoes to help your shoes last longer. And always (ALWAYS!) clean your shoes up and keep them in good condition.
