Did you know you can get a HUGE discount with an Airbnb monthly discount? This guide shows how to get an Airbnb monthly rental for a great long-term stay.
Ah, so you’re one of the lucky ones, huh?
You can travel long-term and stay in an Airbnb for a month (or longer!)
But surely they offer discounts for longer stays, right?
You’re right, and I’ll show you how I’ve stayed in the most amazing Airbnbs worldwide at a fraction of the cost.
And, by the end of this post, you will, too.
How to get a monthly discount on your Airbnb rental
1. Use Airbnb Search for stays of a month
Whether you’re a digital nomad, a business traveler, or it’s your first time traveling, using Airbnb’s Search feature is the easiest way to find monthly discounts on Airbnb listings (and weekly discounts, too!)
Simply open Airbnb, type in your destination, choose your desired dates and guests, then search. The discounts are obvious as the original price has a huge slash through it.
Booking long-term Airbnbs is where you can find the largest savings, and it’s not even close.
For example, I was searching a trip to Rome earlier this year and stumbled upon this gem.

I found a property in Rome with over $400 off by searching the special offers for a monthly booking.
To make things even sweeter, the discount for checking out just a day earlier? Only $91.

That’s why long-term stays are HUGE for getting a discounted price.
Use the plus/minus feature
If you’re more flexible with your dates, use the plus/minus feature at the bottom of the dates section.
You can choose 1, 3, or 7 days before or after your selected dates.

Using this feature, you’ll ensure you don’t miss out on any deals.
On the results page, there are more options for you to check, and the dates are listed below the title and description of the apartment rental.

2. Use the ‘I’m Flexible’ function
More flexible than Gumby?
Then Airbnb has the perfect feature for you. With the I’m Flexible feature, you can search for a weekend, weekly, and monthly discounts.
All you do is choose your destination, click the I’m Flexible tab, and choose how long and what month.

Then, you’ll see a list of search results for weekly or monthly accommodation availability. And you’ll also see a ton of cheaper stays.
Play around with the filter to find a stay in your price range.

For example, checking in March 2023 in Strasbourg, France, there are apartments with massive savings.
But, also pay attention to the service fees and cleaning fees. Some will charge extra, and the reward isn’t worth it.
3. Ask the host for a discount
Last, if you’ve checked every listing and can’t find a deal you like, try messaging the host.
Hosts want lower turnover. They still have to pay utility bills even when their Airbnb goes unused. So, if you can message a host and politely negotiate a better rate, you may get lucky and secure a luxurious stay (for a fraction of the price!)

Remember, the decision is entirely up to the host. If they don’t want to offer a discount on their monthly Airbnb, they are under no pressure to do it.
So, do your research, find a place you want to book, then ask about saving money on your stay.
After that, you can start your travel plans.

Many people mention referral discounts and coupons, but these rarely work.
Instead, if you use Airbnb’s simple features to look for an apartment or hotel, you’ll find a great stay of 28 days or longer every time.
